Everyone was in the playground.
大家都在操场上。
What were the children doing?
They were talking about something.
What were they talking about?
"I've got a good joke," said Wilf.
"What goes black, white, black, white?"
Wilf 说：我有个不错的笑话。
什么是：黑，白，黑，白？
"I don't know," said Biff.
Biff 说：我不知道。
"A penguin rolling down a hill!" said Wilf.
Wilf 说：一只企鹅滚下山坡！
What a lame joke！
真是个冷笑话！
其实这个笑话还有下半段：
What's black and white and laughing?
Do you know what it is?
The penguin who pushed him!

"Why couldn't the skeleton go to the party?"
Anneena 说：我也有一个。
为什么骷髅不能去派对？
"Why couldn't the skeleton go to the party?" asked Chip.
Chip 问：为什么骷髅不能去派对？
"It had no body to go with!" said Anneena.
Anneena 说：它没有身体可以一起去。
又是一个冷笑话，
那么我们该怎么理解这个笑话呢？
关键词是：no body。
本来骨架嘛，没有皮肤没有肉的，
没有肉体，no body，
而 “no body” 读起来像 nobody。
所以可以这样回答：nobody / no-one to go with.
这样大家可不可以懂了？
It had no body to go with!
因为（骷髅）他 没有肉体 no body 和他一起去。
因为 nobody 没有人 和他一起去。
The children were playing in the playground.
Mrs May whistled.
It's time for class.
"Time to come inside!" called Mrs May.
"Line up quietly, everyone."
Line up 就是 “排队，排成一排”
Mrs May 叫道：该回教室 里 啦！
大家安静地排好队。
"What do sea monsters eat?" said Nadim.
Nadim 说：海怪吃什么？
Do you know the answer?
HOHO...
"Fish and ships!" 鱼和船！
"That's a terrible joke!" said Biff.
Biff 说：真是个可怕的笑话！
海怪吃什么?’
Fish and ships!
可能你也发现了吧，
其实这个回答本身并没有什么可笑之处，
但是英语国家有一种非常流行的快餐叫
Fish and chips ‘炸鱼加薯条’。
这个笑话的可笑之处在于 Fish and ships
和 Fish and chips 听起来很相似，
让人马上联想到海怪会吃这种快餐。
好的吧，这样的笑话，
作为一个非西方国家，还是挺难 get 到的。

Mrs May 说：进来吧，话匣子们。

"Sorry, Mrs May," said Wilf.
"We were telling jokes."
Wilf 说：对不起 Mrs May，

joke is something that you say or do to make people laugh
"Well, it's time to stop now," said Mrs May.
Mrs May 说：那好，现在开始停止吧。
"Mrs May!" called Biff.
"What does an elephant do on a motorway?"
Biff 叫道：Mrs May！
大象在高速公路上做了什么？
"Not now, Biff," said Mrs May.
"Tell me later.
Mrs May 说：Biff，现在不行哦，
晚些你来告诉我吧。
In you go everyone."
大家快进来。

"What does an elephant do on a motorway?"
Nadim 悄悄的说：Biff，
大象在高速公路上做了什么？
"About two miles an hour!" said Biff.
Biff 说：大约一小时2迈。
"Biff! Nadim!" said Mrs May.
"Go inside quietly!"
Mrs May 说：Biff，Nadim！
进去，并且安静！
It was nearly time to go home.
"Well done!" said Mrs May.
"You have worked hard today.
Now it's time to tidy up."
快到回家的时候了。
Mrs May 说：不错！
你们今天都很努力。
现在该收拾收拾了。

"Do you want to hear one of Nadim's jokes?"
Anneena 说：Mrs May！
你想要听听 Nadim 的一个笑话吗？
"Well, just one," said Mrs May.
"I want to get home tonight."
Mrs May 说：好，就一个。
我想要今天晚上回家。
"Why do cows wear bells?" asked Anneena.
Anneena 问：为什么牛带着铃？
"I don't know," said Mrs May.
"Why do cows wear bells?"
Mrs May 说：我不知道。
为什么牛带着铃呢？
"Because their horns don't work!" said Nadim.
Nadim 说：因为他们的牛角不工作（不会响）啊！
horn 一语双关，号角，牛角。
号角 horn 原本应该会响的，
但是 牛角 horn 不会响。
Ok, What a lame joke!

"I want to ask you something," she said.
"Who knows about Help the Children Day?"
Mrs May 拍了拍手。
她说：我想要问个问题。
谁知道关爱孩子日？
Help the Children Day
"There's a special day," said Chip.
"People raise money to help children," said Wilf.
Chip 说：那是个特别的日子。
Wilf 说：人们 募捐 raise money 来帮助孩子们。
"How could we raise money for Help the Children Day?" asked Mrs May.
"We'll have to think hard," said Anneena.
"Tell me your ideas tomorrow," said Mrs May.
Mrs May 问：我们可以怎样筹集款项来帮助孩子呢？
Anneena 说：我们要好好的想一想。
Mrs May 说：明天告诉我你们的想法吧。
Can the children get some good idea?
